SharePoint 2013 has been optimized for an improved viewing experience across various mobile technologies. In addition to this, there are several mobile exclusive features that aid using SharePoint on a mobile device. As someone that uses SharePoint on the move, these changes are very welcome indeed!
Improved identity management.
SharePoint 2013 features much improved authentication enhancements. Support for server-to-server authentication and app authentication via the OAuth 2.0 authentication protocol allows new functionality opportunities for SharePoint apps. Exchange Sever 2012 and Lync Server 2013.
Get social with SharePoint.
SharePoint 2013 sees the introduction of community sites, allowing SharePoint users to participate in forum discussions that can be categorized. Users with knowledge of certain forum subjects can be connected to forum threads, as can users who are seeking knowledge on a certain subject.
The community portal is a search driven function that allows users to discover communities from a link on their mysites.
Mysites has been given a social makeover, implementing a user interface that encourages the end user to developer their personal profile and use the new micro blog functionality.
